Sri Lanka is girdled by 1,600 km. of beautiful tropical beaches on its southern, western, eastern and northern shores. A well - rostered rainfall pattern keeps one half of the island’s beaches rain – free year round. Prime resort beaches stretch from beyond Waikkal to Negombo, Mount Lavinia, Wadduwa, Kalutara and Beruwela in the west and southwest, and to Bentota, Ahungalle, Hikkaduwa, Dikwella, Tangalle and Hambantota in the south. Pristine east – coast beaches sweep north and south of Trincomalee – Nilaveli, Kuchaveli, Pasekidah and Arugam Bay.
